Todd rejoined Bain Capital Ventures in 2012 after a two plus year sojourn in Silicon Valley as a Partner co-leading Accel Partners’ newly created Growth Fund. Todd spends his time focused on growth-stage investments in SaaS, financial technology and information-based businesses. He is animated by the compelling opportunities resulting from the confluence of great management teams and the new, low-friction, highly-scalable business models that the web and mobile devices now enable.
Prior to his time at Accel, Todd previously spent almost five years at BCV helping to build and grow the firm’s growth equity effort. Prior to BCV, Todd spent much of his early career at Summit Partners as both an Associate and then later as a Vice President. He also held business development roles at two private companies including Synapse Group – the predecessor company to Priceline.com, which was later sold to Time Inc. for $500 million.
Todd received his MBA, with Honors, from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and his AB, cum laude, in English from Dartmouth College where he spent four months studying at the Budapest Institute of Economics in the period immediately following the fall of the Berlin Wall. In addition, while pulling up the rear on the freshman heavyweight crew team, he was a member of the group that broke the world record for the continuous indoor rowing of one million meters – a feat that required a 36-hour, round-the-clock effort and may have contributed to the C he got on his mid-term Spanish exam. Todd is enthralled by great writing and reads as much modern fiction as his too frequent time on planes permits while his passion for Boston sports teams borders on the unhealthy – a blessing (or curse) he has passed on to his two young children.
