Kristen Deftos

Vice President, Human Resources, Boston

As the HR Business Partner for Bain Capital Ventures, Kristen supports the team’s overall talent management agenda. She has oversight for assessing and hiring the best talent possible, performance management, and on-going development initiatives to enhance our team’s professional capabilities.

Prior to joining Bain Capital Ventures, Kristen spent twelve years at Wellington Management Company, LLP in Boston.  As a Human Resources Relationship Manager, she partnered with senior business leaders across functional areas including business development, product management, relationship management and information services in support of varied people-related issues and initiatives.  Additionally, Kristen spent two years as the Director of Global Talent Acquisition, with oversight for all recruiting activities globally.  Prior to Wellington, Kristen was with J.P. Morgan in New York, where she held both human resources generalist and recruiting roles.

Kristen received her AB, cum laude, from Bowdoin College – Go U Bears! – and a Master of Arts in Organizational Psychology from Columbia University Teachers’ College.
