How we worked with LinkedIn
In 2008, Bain Capital Ventures and our affiliates provided a substantial investment to LinkedIn that allowed the company to further expand its growth efforts and gave the business the needed financial resources to continue its investments in product, sales, and technology. Over the past several years, Bain Capital Ventures actively participated in the LinkedIn board, was involved in the hiring of key team members, and made many customer introductions across the board Bain Capital network.
Over the investment period, LinkedIn grew from approximately 125 employees and 17 million members to more than 1000 employees and 100 million members worldwide. In May of 2011, LinkedIn completed a successful IPO of more than $300 million on the NYSE.
